Frequently asked questions

Answers for technical and procurement buyers

How does pricing work?

Choose a base plan for feature access, then add usage as needed. Base plans unlock capabilities. Add-ons and usage pricing cover things like inbox volume, email volume, seats, domains, phone numbers, SMS, validation, and storage.

Which plan should I start with?

Starter is for non-commercial evaluation. Pro is the normal starting point for production automation. Growth is for teams that need shared workspaces, domains, and higher operational limits. Enterprise is for procurement, security review, and custom rollout requirements.

Is Starter for commercial use?

No. Starter is a non-commercial plan for testing, evaluation, and lightweight personal use. If you are using MailSlurp for business, client work, or production operations, start on Pro or above.

Which plans can start with a trial?

Trials depend on the current catalog and account eligibility. On the public pricing page, any plan marked Start trial supports a trial for new eligible customers. Trial eligibility can still be removed at checkout if the account or payment method has already used a trial.

What is billed separately?

Usage-based pricing applies to variable parts of the platform such as inbox creation, email send and receive volume, storage, seats, domains, AI usage, validation, phone number rental, and SMS. The pricing tables below show which items are billed separately from the base plan.

What happens when we hit a limit?

It depends on the limit. Some limits can be expanded by add-ons or usage billing. Some feature-gated products require the right plan first. For self-serve plans, the app will usually route you to the next plan or add-on path when you hit a relevant limit.

How does yearly billing work?

Yearly billing keeps the same plan features but charges annually at a lower effective monthly rate. The pricing header shows the current maximum savings available across self-serve plans.

How do phone numbers and SMS pricing work?

Phone pricing is separate from the base plan. Numbers are rented monthly by country and variant, and SMS is billed by message. Outbound SMS pricing varies by reply multiplier, so SMS out can cost more than SMS in for some regions.

Can we use MailSlurp in CI/CD and production workflows?

Yes. MailSlurp is built for automated test pipelines, staging environments, and production-adjacent validation workflows. Teams commonly use it for signup flows, OTP, password reset, notifications, deliverability checks, and mailbox automation.

Do you offer support packages?

Yes. Enterprise customers can get custom onboarding and support options tailored to rollout, procurement, and ongoing operational needs.

How are upgrades, procurement, and enterprise plans handled?

Self-serve customers can change plans and add supported products in-app. Enterprise goes through sales. That path is used for invoicing, security review, procurement, rollout planning, SAML SSO, audit requirements, regional hosting, and custom terms.
